Optometry Doctors That Accept Medicare
37,150 Medicare-enrolled clinicians nationwide
Does Original Medicare cover optometry?
Original Medicare does not cover routine eye exams for glasses or contacts. It does cover medical eye care from an optometrist — like an annual diabetic eye exam, or exams to monitor glaucoma or age-related macular degeneration — when it's medically necessary. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, routine vision (including an annual eye exam and an allowance toward glasses) is often included — check your plan.
